Abstract
This document analyzes recent internal migration at the district and provincial levels, as well as its determinants, using data from the 2007 and 2017 population and housing censuses. Among the main findings is that lower poverty and rurality, as well as greater access to services (public water supply, electricity, and education) in destination districts, explain migration between 2012 and 2017. Furthermore, recent data reveal that out-migration is directed toward districts with larger populations rather than mid-sized cities, and that both migration and population growth are concentrated in a small number of districts.
