Abstract

The BCRP announced that, starting in 2007, monetary policy will aim to achieve an inflation rate of 2.0 percent, with a tolerance margin of one percentage point up or down. This article reviews the criteria for determining the long-term inflation rate and its relevance in the Peruvian context.
