Oversight of Payment Systems in Latin America and the Caribbean

Given the increased interdependence among financial markets and in light of the operation of cross-border payment systems, the author considers it necessary to have formalized international cooperation agreements with defined functions and responsibilities, as well as established common goals and standards.
