Resumen:
Motivated by the growing relevance of the e-commerce and the key role of price rigidity in explaining the real effects of monetary shocks, this paper measures the degree of stickiness of online prices in Peru. To this end, we analysed 4.5 million prices published daily on the web page of a representative department store in Peru. This big data was obtained using web scraping techniques which were applied daily since 2016. Based on the frequency of price changes and their duration, the results indicate that online prices in Peru are less sticky than in other countries.
